Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Made a trip to try Mama's Kitchen in Goodlettsville and I was not disappointed. The set up is cafeteria style. You walk in, get your silverware, tray and food then you find a seat. As soon as you sit you are greeted by staff to take your drink order. The food is fresh and cooked in smaller batches as to not dry out and lightly seasoned. A meat and three plus fruit tea cost me a little over $13. Considering the recent inflation of food prices, I think this is more than reasonable. The staff is welcoming, the food will warm your soul and you will leave satisfied. Check out their hours of operation on Google and go, just go."
"When in the area I try to get a plate To Go. Today December 30, 2025 they had Chicken & Dumplings. Their dumplings remind me of those made both my Grandma & Grandmother."
"Lunch-The say ‘do just one thing, and do it really well’. That’s what goes on here. No breakfast, no dinner. Just lunch. Six days a week. Not Saturday. Choice of four meats and a lot of veggies. Semi cafeteria style. Martie will handle your drinks and check. Super service at that. And country radio as good you ever hear which fits perfect in this eatery on the edge of the antique district. Just don’t eat too many veggies and desert or you won’t be antiquing. Enjoy."
"If you’re looking for classic Southern comfort food done right, look no further than Mammas kitchen. My wife and I recently dined here, and it was delicious. I opted for the chicken and dressing, paired with pinto beans and carrots, and every bite reminded me of home cooking at its best. The chicken was tender, the dressing was perfectly seasoned, and the sides were flavorful and fresh. My wife had the steak tips and noodles, which were equally impressive—juicy, well-seasoned. I highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving a good ol’ meat-and-three meal! We’ll definitely be back."
"Better than your mamas cooking!!! This place is so good. Food made fresh daily, and it is so affordable. Every chance I get- this is my spot!"
"Saw this on our way to pick up paint for a job and decided to check it out. Happy we did because the food was delicious and not too expensive. It's setup kind of cafeteria style but the people were nice and the atmosphere was quaint. Definitely recommend."
"Food was great. My wife got bakked chicken brown beans and lime beans. She enjoyed it all and said everything was cooked well. I got the country steak and same sides. The meat was meat and did not appear to be a puck like I have gotten from some other places. We will be back to try more good food."
"The food was excellent. Southern food at its finest . The cornbread was the best I've ever tasted. I will definitely recommend this to all my friends."
